Chris Brown Explains How Assault Changed His Career On ‘This Is How I Made It’

Going from a small city in Virginia called Tappahannock to becoming a megastar, Chris Brown has seen major success musically. With five albums under his belt, he recalls in a new episode of MTV's ‘This Is How I Made It," the first time he won a Grammy and what that felt like. “Firsthand to win a Grammy award, it was just the most, like that bliss feeling again. I appreciate it so much to this day; I have it on a mantle and the light on it," he explained. But he also recounts the night that changed his career forever.

"Having to get personal opinion back and having to gain personal success back, you know, it’s not all the way back you know. But it’s one of my most humbling experiences.” Even with all the scrutiny, Chris Brown still didn’t allow that to hold him back. He goes on to say “My story or my life or my legacy can hopefully show them that once you’re down, that don’t just mean you’re down forever. You never let up.”
