For all you "Game of Thrones" fans anxiously awaiting season three of the hit HBO series, today we share with you the music video: “Black and Yellow: Baratheon Edition." The video parodies Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow” and features three guys (Nathan Cox, Andy Davison and Kyle Henick) performing Baratheon House-themed raps in a forest, which one can imagine is in King’s Landing.
For those of you that don’t know, black and yellow are the colors of Baratheon House, one of the Great Houses of Westeros (the fictional continent where most of "Game of Thrones" takes place).
Since the song is about events that occur roughly between book/season one and two, the video should either catch you up to date (kind of, not really) or be a good memory refresher before April rolls around with the new season. With lyrics such as: “post rebellion stuck out here on dragon’s stone/my own wife has me in the friend zone," the video definitely warrants a few chuckles. Direct quotes from the show are also appreciated, particularly, “the night is dark and full of terrors” conjures up the image of the bewitching Melisandre Baratheon who spoke the words at the start of season two.
What you don’t learn in the video is that season three will feature a bevy of British actors who have yet to appear on the show. Most notably, veteran actress Diana Rigg (The Avengers) is set to appear as the essential character, The Queen of Thorns. Ellie Kendrick, who will be playing Meera Reed, said, “I think the fans can look forward to an even more complex and exciting storyline.”
