Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey fans have been fiercely defensive of their respective heros, after footage surfaced from an "American Idol" audition session where a frustrated Minaj hurled a few insults at Carey. But Stevie Nicks is way more upset about the whole thing than any fan has been. After saying that she would've "walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death" in the moment, Nicks is now apologizing for her comments.
“How dare this little girl! … If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there," Nicks told The Daily earlier this week. “I would have killed her in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it."
Now, Nicks has backtracked, admitting that maybe she got a little overzealous. "I want to apologize for my remarks about Nicki Minaj's behavior toward Mariah Carey, which I said during a long and exhausting day of interviews," Nicks said in a new statement "It was very out of character for me and I deeply regret what I said."
