Jay-Z and Beyonce had a little downtime this past weekend, which they spent kicking back at La Marina, a new waterside restaurant and lounge in Manhattan's Inwood neighborhood. The Carters hung with pals Swizz Beatz, Steve Stoute and more enjoying drinks and cigars.
Beyonce dressed up for the outing, wearing a fitted Roberto Cavalli animal print dress with Charlotte Olympia heels, while Jay kept it casual in a white tee and denim jacket. La Marina overlooks NYC's Hudson River, providing a scenic backdrop for Jay, Swizz and company to light up a few cigars and sip on D'usse Cognac cocktails, which Hov now endorses.
Just last week Jay-Z and Beyonce threw a $40, 000 per plate fundraiser for President Obama at the 40/40 club, raising $4 million for his campaign. The soiree reportedly included a 350-bottle champagne tower featuring Jay's high-end grape of choice, Armand de Brignac, more popularly known as Ace of Spades.
On September 1, during Jay's Made in America music festival performance in Philadelphia, the rapper rolled out a special message from the president on the big screen as tens of thousands of fans cheered on. "To me, the idea of America is that no matter who you are, what you look like or where you come from, you can make it if you try. Jay-Z did it," the Prez said in the pre-taped message following "Public Service Announcement." "
