Earlier this month Rihanna revealed that she'd gotten a rather large tattoo across her chest in honor of her late grandmother, and this week the singer gave fans another look at her new ink, while lounging poolside.
She shared a photo of herself and best friend Melissa Forde hanging out at the pool, showing off the healed artwork for the first time.
For the initial reveal, she posted the topless photo to her Instagram, proudly displaying her latest tat, which is of the goddess Isis and is located under her breasts. She wrote, "Goddess Isis- Complete Woman - Model for future generations- #GRANGRANDOLLY - always in and on my heart #1love.
Isis, according to Egyptian mythology, was worshipped by the lower classes, the oppressed and artists as the "ideal mother and wife as well as the patron of nature and magic." Rihanna's grandmother was a big part of her life until her death. She passed away in July after a lengthy battle with cancer and was buried later that month in Barbados.
