Nicki Minaj has been busy taping her first episode of "American Idol" as a brand new judge, but apparently there's already tension on set. Word has it that although the newbie is trying hard to conceal herself, she and fellow judge Mariah Carey have already began to clash.
TMZ reports that in efforts to prove she’s in fact the head diva this season, Mariah Carey showed Minaj no mercy at the show’s first taping this past Sunday in NYC. When it came to critiquing contestants, Carey is said to have repeatedly interrupted Nicki causing the head Barb to have to raise her voice on several occasions.
An A.I spy who witnessed an interaction between the two even went as far as adding, "These girls just don't like each other." However, this news is no surprise as a few weeks prior, TMZ also reported that when producers called Mariah to tell her that Nicki would be joining the cast, she hung up the phone.
Returning this January, the new season's panel will include Mariah and Nicki, who was officially added this week along with country superstar Keith Urban.
