It seems like Chris Brown might actually be surpsied at the backlash from his new neck tattoo. While the public seemed to immediately point toward the image's similarities to his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown issued a statement via his rep, and then took to Twitter to write this message, "I’m an artist and this is art. Dia de los Muertos."
The ink on Brown's neck is of a woman's face with strange markings on it but Brown's rep has responded to the allegations that the image is of his pop star ex, Rihanna. "His tattoo is a sugar skull [associated with the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead] and a MAC cosmetics design he saw," the rep told TMZ. "It is not Rihanna or an abused woman as erroneously reported."
The photo of the tat in question was taken in Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend, but it managed to go under the radar until now.
Chris Brown's latest piece of ink has been the subject of lots of speculation on Tuesday (September 11) and had some fans wondering just what Brown's latest tattoo is supposed to resemble.
