If Toddlers & Tiaras had a hip-hop soundtrack, the result might be something like "Murda Bizness." Iggy Azalea pokes fun at the high-stakes competition of kiddie pageants in her new video, which debuted today on MTV's "10 On Top" show, alongside mentor T.I. Playing the mother to an adorable mini-me, Iggy coaches her little tyke--with plenty of Mountain Dew and candy bribery--to beat out the other toddlers for the crown. T.I. joins as the father to one of the sassy kids and exchanges in a cute, comedic scene.
Iggy shared her excitement on Twitter today for the new video, calling her look "tacky Casino mom" (a reference to Sharon Stone's character in the 1995 film Casino). "we chose the toddlers & tiaras theme because pageants are fierce competition" she tweeted and "PLUS, so many people looked at the titling of the record and took it so literal."
The Australian beauty and T.I. have been working together extensively since she signed with Tip's Grand Hustle label earlier this year. "I didn't know I was gonna sign to Grand Hustle," Azalea told MTV News. "There's no way I thought that would happen. Not because I didn't like them, just because my deal was all sewn up, and I restructured the whole thing."
Iggy Azalea's debut album, The New Classic, is tentatively scheduled to drop this year with T.I. executive-producing. T.I.'s gonna be helping me with it, kind of A&R-ing, kind of executive producing," Azalea said. "He called me up like, 'Please?' and I was like, 'Definitely. You're Tip; I love you — of course.' So he's gonna be helping me out, just reaching out to people and helping me find production and pointing me in the direction of things that I might like."
