It's July 17, which means that Nas' 10th studio album Life is Good is officially out, and its time to celebrate. The Queens rapper, who exceeded expectations with his new LP, rang in the release with a party at the Moet Lounge in NYC on Monday night (July 16). A few of his friends came out to toast the occasion with him, including Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, Beyonce and No I.D. More inside.
Q-Tip and JD Wonder manned the turntables for the event in NYC's Meatpacking District, while Nas schmoozed with his long list of guests, like video director Va$shtie, G.O.O.D. Music's Teyana Taylor, Jermaine Dupri and more.
"It's been a long time; it's been years since I released a solo studio album, so this record is everything," Nas told MTV News before the album's release. "This is everything that I've got to say — I guess you've got to live a little and you put that in your music, so it's coming from my life."
For Nas, the album marks a triumphant return to the good life, after a few difficult years which included a very public divorce and financial woes. Those tribulations have fueled an album that fans have already been raving about.
