A commercial for Frank Ocean's upcoming album, Channel Orange, aired Sunday night (July 1) during the 2012 BET Awards. The mysterious spot includes portions of the song "Pyramids," and a shot of a lone car. A video featuring the same image made its rounds online last month.
In early June, Frank announced the Channel Orange album and a full tour kicking off in Seattle, WA and hitting dates in stops like NYC, Toronto and Detroit.
Ever since his Nostalgia, Ultra release, featuring the breakthrough "Novacane," expectations for Frank's next solo album are incredibly high. During a listening session in NYC, Frank revealed that the album will feature a surprising guest in Outkast's Andre 3000. Due July 17, Andre is featured on a song called "Pleasure" in which he both raps and sings per The Boombox.
In April, Frank joined an all-star line up this year's Coachella along with J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and hologram 2Pac. He told BBC earlier this year. "I guess I'm just inspired to tell stories" and added "You gotta make sure the listener is listening to you, so if you put it into a song, often times, if the song is striking enough, then you can really deliver the story most effectively while keeping the ear of the listener the whole time. I guess it all starts with the stories for me."
