Nas’ 10th studio album Life is Good is due out on July 17, and if you weren’t excited about the LP just yet, then this should do the trick. To reveal the album cover the Queens rapper has premiered a trailer, which pretty much confirms that this project will really share some intimate details about his life. The brief clip doesn't shy away from the controversies that have surrounded him recently—divorce, taxes, music criticism, and even the case of a kidnapped African promoter, which he addressed on a recent episode of “RapFix Live.”
The trailer ends with a clip of Nas on VH1’s “Behind the Music,” talking about his very public and messy divorce from singer Kelis. “She took her stuff out of the house and left her green wedding dress, and that was all she left,” he said, as the screen cuts to the album’s cover art…Nas seated, with the green wedding dress draped over his lap.
"It's been a long time; it's been years since I released a solo studio album, so this record is everything," Nas told MTV News recently. "This is everything that I've got to say — I guess you've got to live a little and you put that in your music, so it's coming from my life."
