Yesterday, after Young Money boss Lil Wayne pulled his roster out of Summer Jam because Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg went negative on Nicki Minaj, he didn't sweat it nearly as much as the hip-hop community at large. No, while heated debates raged on Twitter, Wayne went on with his life, popping bottles and partying it up at LIV nightclub in Miami.
Appearing jovial just hours after starting a Twitter controversy by snubbing the annual festival at the last minute, Wayne shifted from feeling disrespected to celebratory. "I do LIV on sundays I say chuuuurch," Weezy tweeted, quoting Meek Mill's Drake-featuring hit single "Amen" off his recent Dreamchasers 2 mixtape.
A video clip of the night out shows Wayne laughing, shouting people out across the club and even engaging in some dancing.
The original controversy started after Rosenberg, a morning show host for the popular rap station, referred to Minaj and her song "Starships" as "wack." Word got to Minaj and then Wayne, who tweeted "Young Money ain't doing summer jam" an hour-and-a-half after the concert had commenced.
Minaj, who was scheduled as the headliner, then added her own take. "Wow. U ni--az just f---ed up history," she wrote. "I go above and beyond for my fans. But won't ever go against wayne's word. What he says, goes. Had a HELL of a f---ing lineup. But won't b disrespected."
