While still working on his second official LP, tentatively titled Love Story, Yelawolf has another intriguing collaboration on the way. The Alabama rapper has linked-up with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker on a new EP entitled Psycho White.
The five-song effort came about as an extension of Country Fresh – Yela's signature line for Barker's clothing company Famous Stars and Straps. "Every time we would get in the lab, we'd knock something out," the Shady Records signee told Billboard. "We just collaborated and… had a meeting of the minds. There's a lot of cool stuff we came up with."
The EP boasts a mixture of rap and rock, even featuring veteran punk rocker Tim Armstrong from Rancid on a track called "Can't Push Us Around."
Release details are still being finalized for the effort. As Yela tells it, they are still working out whether Psycho White will be a digital freebie or see wider physical release. "I don't know Travis' situation fully, the legals of it, whether it's going to be free or sold or whatever," he said. "It'll be available. As artists, hopefully we can get it on the shelves, but we'll get it out there somehow. I'm just hyped for people to hear it."
In the meantime, Yelawolf will also release an 11-minute horror film for the track "Growin' Up in the Gutter," which he has described as "intense" and "super controversial."
