After constantly having his album pushed back, Curren$y finally has an official release date for The Stoned Immaculate, set to drop on June 5th. This is Spitta's first major release through Warner Bros. and what better way to capture the attention of urban America than getting Taylor Gang frontman Wiz Khalifa alongside Mississippi native Big K.R.I.T. on his new single "Jet Life."
Collaborating is nothing new to self-proclaimed "best friends" Wiz and Curren$y, having actually worked on an entire mixtape together back in 2009 called How Fly. Fast forward 3 years later and we see that "Jet Life" really captures the essence and feeling that the project brought us years ago.
Big K.R.I.T makes his contributions by taking over the chorus, where we're presented with his unique "country"-style flow over the mellowed out instrumentals on "Jet Life." When it comes to the verses, Curren$y delves into the way certain women now perceive him, rapping, "Gold diggin' h--s houndin', wishin' they wake up in one of our houses/ cause we’ve got it they want it, high end shoppin' on rodeo bags boxes being carried/ they’re wishin we was married."
Going right back to his roots, "Black and Yellow" star Wiz Khalifa sticks to the theme by describing his vanities and the luxuries that his new lifestyle brings, spitting, "make in a day what you make in a month, got a lotta cash so a n----a gon' stunt."
"Jet Life" is the second single from The Stoned Immaculate, following the Wale-assisted "What it Look Like." The LP's powerhouse guest list includes the likes of Wale, 2 Chainz, and Lil' Wayne, plus production from none-other than Pharrell and Big K.R.I.T, who actually produced "Jet Life" himself.
