LeBron James Wins 3rd MVP, Hip-Hop Playoffs Round Two Begins

Miami Heats centerpiece of the highly touted "Big Three," LeBron James has snagged the NBA's 2011-2012 Most Valuable Player award. LeBron's latest MVP award was announced yesterday by the NBA and tomorrow James will officially be presented with the trophy at the Heats opening second round series against the Indiana Pacers.

Lebron James' latest win puts him in an elite class of legends including Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Moses Malone and Michael Jordan.


The NBA action continues this evening with the beginning of round two in the Eastern Conference where the Boston Celtics take on the Philadelphia 76ers. Later tonight the Los Angeles will attempt to stave off the fighting Denver Nuggets in a game 7 showdown.


In the MTV News Hip-Hop playoffs a host of crews prepare to enter round two after a grueling music match in the initial round against their opponents. Rap powerhouse YMCMB, Brick Squad, A$AP Mob, Taylor Gang, Bad Boy, and D-Block were all sent home while Maybach Music, G.O.O.D. Music, Roc Nation, Grand Hustle, Dipset, and G-Unit wait patiently to begin round two. Be sure to stay tuned for round two of the voting phase.

A championship team is only as good as its weakest link, so we analyzed talent, sales success and overall influence to determine our 16 rap teams and come up with the proper seeding.
