Later this year, 90s girl group TLC will be reuniting for a U.S. concert tour featuring band members Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, and possibly a projection of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes? According to TMZ, group reps say TLC is currently in the planning stages of a 2012 reunion tour in the states that incorporates deceased former member Left Eye into the show.
On the tour, TLC reportedly plans to project the image of Left Eye on a big screen and work her vocals into the live performances. A tour including Left Eye is just one example in the new trend of deceased artists coming back to perform virtually. An eerily realistic hologram of Tupac recently performed with Dr. Dre and other hip hop artists at the Coachella music festival and was well-received by audiences.
After the Tupac performance, other deceased artists have been rumored to be going on tour via hologram such as the Notorious B.I.G. and Michael Jackson with The Jackson Five.
According to group reps, 5 major cities have already been booked for the tour. The tour marks the first time the women have toured together since the passing of Left Eye due to a car accident while on vacation in Honduras in April, 2002.
