Wale has been promising a remix to "Slight Work" the hit single from his debut album Ambition, but no one expected to find Ma$e on the track. The former Bad Boy rapper turned preacher spits a verse, along with additional features from Diddy, French Montana and Meek Mill.
The track premiered on Funkmaster Flex's show yesterday, and Ma$e called in to explain how his feature came about, giving much credit to French Montana for putting things in motion. A lot of love goes out to French. I don’t know why he was repping me so strong, but he was showing me Harlem love. He ain’t even from Harlem, it’s crazy," Ma$e said, going on to explain what the recording dynamic was like.
“He called Wale one time and Wale was like, come to the studio. I was in Atlanta and then I just came through and they was just blowing so hard in the studio, smoking all loud, I couldn’t even get my verse out, they kept laughing at me. I came back the next day and was like, ‘I’m ready now.’"
