Tupac back-- again! On Sunday (April 22) night Dr. Dre returned to Coachella and brought out an impressive gang of guests. Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Warren G and of course hologram Tupac all made a return for the second straight weekend at the California music festival.
While backstage at the show, Dre filmed and then released a viral clip on YouTube stating that the ‘Pac stunt was strictly for the Coachella festival and not to launch a tour, though he didn’t rule out the possibility. "It was strictly for Coachella, get it right. I want to get rid of all the rumors out there. This was not done for a tour,” Dre said in the video. “If a tour happens, we’ll see. This was done strictly for Coachella 2012, baby, just for you.”
After the the holo-‘Pac made his first appearance MTV News spoke to Kendrick Lamar who marveled at the posthumous performance from the rap legend. "It was just a crazy feeling, made me think of that one moment when I seen dude in real life,” he said. "When I finally got to see it along with the other hundred thousand people, it was just something that I didn't think nobody could ever do.”
Warren G who knew Tupac while he was alive was open to the possibility of touring with the hologram. The G-Funk originator thought up a way to get Diddy and the late Notorious B.I.G. involved as well. "That would be dope for Puffy to come on and we just do one of the biggest, majorest tours ever where it happens like that," he said. "He could go out and do the same thing, but it would be dope to do it together."
