Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz displayed quite a bit of chemistry earlier this week when they released their collaborative track “Beez in the Trap” from Nicki’s upcoming Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded LP. The “Spend It” MC is well aware of the furor that the track caused. In addition to the positive fan reaction, it also started a DJ beef between Funk Master Flex and DJ Clue.
“Shout out to Young Money, shout out to Nicki Minaj, her album coming out April 3, we have a song on there together called ‘Beez in the Trap,’ I heard it got New York goin’ ham,” Deuce told RapFix in Atlanta while on set for his upcoming “Riot” video.“It definitely got the A goin’ ham, so that’s a good look.”
"Beez" finds the Harajuku Barbie once again taking aim at unnamed rap chicks. "Bitches ain't sh-- and they ain't sayin' nothin'," she boasts on over a sparse drum track. Underground favorite 2 Chainz doesn't compromise a thing spitting alongside the multiplatinum rapper. He drops a charismatic 16-bar verse where he goes on about his Lexus LS 450, True Religion jeans and his pimp ways.
The Roman Reloaded track may not be the last time we hear the two MCs in tandem. 2 Chainz hinted that Nicki may return the favor when he drops his debut solo album on Def Jam Records later this year. “Like I said be lookin’ out for my album Based on a T.R.U. Story, we might have a cut on there as well,” he said.
Are you looking forward to another 2 Chainz and Nicki Minaj collaboration?
