Rihanna Is Geisha Goth For Coldplay's 'Princess Of China' Video

Rihanna has tweeted photos from the set of Coldplay’s new video “Princess of China” and RiRi is channeling the Good Geisha Gone Bad look, which she describes as "Gangsta Goth Geisha." The songstress’s hair, jewelry, and general aesthetic are an homage to the country to which the song refers, and the setting is complete with tasseled paper lanterns hanging in the background. Despite the old-school look, she brings it back to her stylish roots, with finger nails longer than her fingers (middle finger up), an Angelina Jolie-esque slit in her skirt, finishing the look with some cigarette smoke.

East definitely meets West here. This is also the first time we’ve seen of RiRi with black hair in a while and it certainly finishes off the look. At the Grammys, Chris Martin told MTV News, “Her bit on our record is our favorite bit,” and we have a feeling that everyone will share his sentiments in terms of her bit of the video.

Lately, it seems like there’s nothing Rihanna can’t do. With a killer Grammy performance behind her, a feature in Drake’s upcoming “Take Care” video on the way, in addition to her own visuals for “Where Have You Been,” Rihanna has been a busy girl. Oh, and as she also revealed recently that she’s pursuing a fashion line of her own. There’s plenty of Rihanna to look forward to in the coming weeks.

What do you think of Rihanna’s look for Princess of China?
