Did Drake get his London Calling? As of Tuesday morning (January 31), the Young Money rapper is a confirmed headliner at this summer’s Barclaycard Wireless Festival in London’s Hyde Park. He’s set to take the stage on Saturday, July 7, just one day before his co-headliner Rihanna picks things up on Sunday, July. Other stars slated to perform at the annual festival include Wiz Khalifa, Jessie J, Calvin Harris, Professor Green, and Example.
Drake and Rihanna are now good friends and collaborators–on Rihanna’s “What’s My Name” and Drake’s “Take Care”–after having a brief fling. Plenty of rumors made their rounds on the Internet, before the Toronto native finally opened up about their romance in an October interview with Elle magazine saying, “I guess I thought it was more. That was the first girl with any fame that paid me any mind. You spend days reading about this person in magazines. All of a sudden you have this number-one song and you’re at some birthday party and there she is. And you’re just some naive kid from Toronto staying in some sh–ty-ass hotel who got invited to this party on a whim. That’s just how it happened.”
Tickets for the festival go on sale on Friday, February 3rd at 10am. Visit www.wirelessfestival.co.uk for more information and to purchase tickets online.
