On Wednesday (January 25) Rihanna documented her visit to a Los Angeles tattoo parlor with a series of Twitter photos, which revealed that she’d (supposedly) gotten the words “Thug Life” inked across her knuckles, as a tribute to Tupac. As to be expected, the new ink work triggered plenty of reactions from her 12 million-plus Twitter followers and the 23-year-old fired back with another series of tweets.
"Chill babes #noshade. Err'body has an opinion, but yall know what yall can do with them!!! #THUGLIFE," she wrote in response to fans who weren’t exactly feeling the artwork. One of her more explicit tweets, in response to a fan who claimed she wasn’t a thug: #DUH shut up bitch, swallow!!”
“I'm thinking I shoulda got a tear drop instead!!! #THUGLIFE maybe next time,” she continued. “All eyes on Rih, betta picture me rollin' #THUGLIFE. I can't deny it, ima riot..u don't wanna f--- with me! #THUGLIFEhaaaaaaa.”
Famed tattoo artist, Mark Mahoney, is responsible for Rihanna’s fresh ink, which we still believe is just a joke. The words were printed with a faint white outline, which either means that Rihanna got herself a white tattoo, or she’s just having a lot of fun with this twitpic explosion. In another photo from her original set of tweets, Mahoney is shown working on her back, which is probably where she actually got a new tattoo.
