Lil Wayne Explains Name Of Trukfit Clothing Line

By Nadeska Alexis

We got a peek at Lil Wayne’s Trukfit clothing line earlier this week, and on Tuesday night (January 10) Weezy made a surprise appearance at the 2012 Zumiez 100K event in Keystone, Colorado where he gave a full presentation of the new skateboard apparel. Wayne, always one to do it big, took the stage to the soundtrack of “6 Foot 7 Foot" rocking Trukfit apparel. While on stage, Wayne explained the name "Trukfit" telling fans that as a kid he’d grab new gear from the back of a clothing booster truck.

“When a person could spot a fake, they’d be like 'you got on the truck fit,'” he said, “So now it’s cool to have on the Truckfit, ya dig!” Before wrapping up the night, the Young Money rapper was showered in confetti while celebrities like skateboarder Rob Dyrdek hung nearby. Check out more photos below.

Wayne’s Trukfit line will be available at Zumiez retailers nationwide. The first reports on the new apparel collection came in December, when it was announced that the New Orleans native would debut it at the Agenda trade show in NYC.

“The highly anticipated line of uniquely designed apparel was inspired by Lil Wayne’s passion for skateboarding and quality street wear,” a release from Agenda reads. “Pulling influence from Lil Wayne’s distinctive style and voice, Trukfit is made from quality fabrics and features bold graphics at a moderate price point.”
