Freddie Gibbs Gets Weed Past Airport Security With Warning: 'C'mon Son'

By Nadeska Alexis

We’ve read plenty of stories about passengers getting hassled at airports thanks to heightened security regulations, but here’s one to prove that some TSA agents have a sense of humor. This week Freddie Gibbs was caught at an airport with marijuana in his bag, but the Gary, Indiana native was allowed to go free with only a warning. The warning consisted of two hand-scribbled words that really drove the agent’s point home: “C’mon Son.”

On Wednesday (December 15) Gibbs posted a photo on his Twitter account showing the marijuana and the TSA agent’s note writing, "The TSA found my weed and let me keep it. They just left me a note. 'C'mon Son'. Lol."

“Bout to go thru security at the airport again,” he added later in the day, following up on Thursday morning with, “All this fuss over a half ounce of weed. I love it.” We think you should consider yourself pretty lucky Gangsta Gibbs.

The TSA is now investigating the incident. “TSA takes all allegations of inappropriate conduct seriously and is investigating this claim,” a spokesperson said in a statement. ” Should the claims be substantiated, TSA will take appropriate disciplinary steps and refer the alleged possession of an illegal substance to law enforcement.”

Gibbs was a contender for 2011's Hottest Breakthrough MC competition. The 29-year-old rapper inked a deal with Young Jeezy's Corporate Thugz Entertainment earlier this year after releasing popular mixtapes that include 2009's The Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs and Midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik, and last year's independent EP Str8 Killa No Filla.
