Before he dropped his critically acclaimed sophomore Ambition, Wale released his seventh mixtape The Eleven One Eleven Theory back in August. The compilation spawned a few popular singles, including the standout cut “Bait,” which even earned two music videos (a NSFW version was released and redone). The original track, featuring TCB is an all-out lyrical homage to his hometown D.C., and for the remix Wale has called on his mentor Rick Ross, plus 2 Chainz and Trey Songz.

2 Chainz opens up the track, which uses the same production on the original with the lines, "Work, work, work, work, stashed up at my girl's spot/Hair weave killer had on Louie's in my mug shot,” before doubling his flow with some flashy showoff lines. Rick Ross follows and flosses, spitting, "Ross and Folarin, couple women/Got them thugs with me, yeah, we about that business/I'm talking Ambition, I could spell it for you/Rev up the Lamborghini, and inhale it for you."

Wale Drops New "Bait' Video

Trey Songz dons his rapper cap for this feature, doing his usual loverboy-slash-thug routine before Wale confidently closes the show out on the anchor verse, rapping, “Yeah you know I got that work, women second, family first/Money never ever hurt 'cuz rapping got a lot of perks/Hold up, wait, these Nikes don't got no date/It ain't gon' be no back and forth/But I do quite well with all the bait.” From this point, Wale charges hard until the end. Although Wale's Miguel-featured track "Lotus Flower Bomb" is currently blazing the airwaves, fans should expect this track to get requisite burn in the clubs and on stereos as well.

Wale's Maybach Music Group debut is in stores now.
