Houston-bred rapper Slim Thug joined members of custom car shop 713 Motoring on Tuesday (November 22) to deliver free turkeys to needy families at the Bread of Life homeless shelter in his hometown. The Boss Hogg Outlaw, infamous for his candy paint-drenched lyrics, owes much of his wood grain grippin’ to the 713 crew, who have tricked out many of the whips in his fleet. So when they asked him to ride shotgun for their turkey drive, Thugga tells MTV News that he didn’t hesitate to hop on board for H-Town’s less fortunate.

“Usually, every year me and a few of my homeboys go to the hood, go to the store and just buy turkeys and pass ‘em out the back of a U-Haul,” Slim Thug told MTV News. “But this year, I got a call from 713 Motoring, they say they puttin’ together a turkey drive and they wanted me to get with ‘em on it. They the homeys, they work on cars, they worked on my cars before, so I came out and we passed out turkeys to the people, just trying to give back for Thanksgiving.”

In addition to the 400 plump holiday birds passed out by Slim, the Houston Food Bank provided patrons with boxes filled with other provisions such as milk and potatoes to help round out their Thanksgiving feasts.

“It’s just good to give back to the community,” Slim said. “You always gotta look back and remember times when you were that person that needed something and was looking for a hand. You always gotta give back, man, that’s the only way you gonna get blessed, if you keep blessin’.”

Slim Thug is currently putting the finishing touches on his next solo album, Hogg Life. He is releasing new songs for free download every “Thug Thursday” via his Twitter handle @slimthugga.
