Wale has been more than ambitious in the months leading up to his latest album release. The D.C. rapper’s sophomore LP, Ambition, has entered the music charts this week at the number two spot, with 164,062 copies sold. The number is a huge jump compared to his 2009 debut album, Attention: Deficit, which sold approximately 28,000 in its first week. The MMG rapper expressed his gratitude to his fans on twitter, writing, “163k! I love my fans .. I'm so grateful.. Thank you Thank you... I'm speechless hip hop for life.”
In February, Wale officially joined Rick Ross’ Maybach Music and since then things have been on the upswing for Mr. Folarin. Wale joined Sway on RapFix Live last week where he revealed that his mental state has been much improved since his last release, which was reportedly undershipped by former label Interscope Records.
Wale says that one of the most important factors for releasing a successful album was the support he got from his current label."I could call everybody at Warner Bros. whenever I want,” he says.
