'Take Care' Leaks, Drake Reacts On Twitter

Drake was forced to delay the original October 24 release of his sophomore album Take Care due to issues with sample clearances, and now the anticipated LP has leaked 9 days shy of its official November 15 drop date. On Sunday night (November 6) the Toronto native stopped by the Flow 93.5 radio station in his hometown to premiere the single “Crew Love” featuring The Weeknd, but shortly afterwards the entire album leaked, revealing the new songs “Lord Knows” featuring Rick Ross and the title track “Take Care” with a feature from Rihanna.

Tracks from Take Care have continued to trickle out slowly over the past few months. “Marvin’s Room” was one of the earliest cuts, premiering back in June and it was followed by “Headlines” in late July. The Nicki Minaj-featured “Make Me Proud,” arrived in mid-October, just in time for Drake to perform the single alongside his label mate during his first Saturday Night Live performance.

With last night’s leak, the most buzzed about track on Take Care is now officially “Lord Knows,” the anticipated Just Blaze production with an explosive feature from Rick Ross. “The Real Her,” with verses from Lil Wayne and Andre 3000 is another notable, but Rihanna’s appearance on “Take Care” (“If you let me, here’s what I’ll do/ I’ll take care of you,” she sings) is an event unto itself. The love song samples Jamie XX’s remix of Gil-Scott Heron’s “I’ll Take Care of U,” and it will naturally generate some extra buzz thanks to Rihanna and Drake’s much speculated romance.

Moments after the new songs hit the web, Drake took to Twitter to address the leak, but he didn’t seem too concerned about it all.

Just Blaze seemed to share Drizzy’s sentiment.
