When MTV News caught up with Big Sean backstage at the Powerhouse show in Philadelphia this past weekend, the Detroit rapper revealed that he plans to drop a new mixtape FFOE (Finally Famous Over Everything) within a month and follow that up with his sophomore album at the top of 2012. “I got my new album coming out early next year,” Sean said. “Right after we put the G.O.O.D. Music album out, the next Finally Famous album comes out.”
Although he’s been busy on tour for the past few months, Sean promised that Finally Famous Over Everything will arrive shortly. “I’m probably gonna be done in the next month or so and it’s strictly just for the believers, people who‘ve been rocking with me,” he said. “I feel like a lot of people who get to put albums out either forget about the mixtape circuit or disregard it, but I know that’s what got me here, the mixtapes.”
“I was able to sell out shows doing mixtapes, so I don’t take that lightly,” he added. “I’m working on the new mixtape, putting real time into it.”
Another possible project might include the rumored mixtape with Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y, who he’s already recorded several tracks with. “I’ve got a lot of songs with Wiz, I’ve got a lot of songs with Curren$y, it just depends on if we want to put it all together,” Sean said.
