Drake Covers November Issue Of 'The Source'

Here’s another reason for Drake to continue the birthday celebration he kicked off in Las Vegas over the weekend—a cover story in The Source’s November issue. The Young Money rapper is front and center on the magazine’s 14th annual “Power 30” issue, sporting his branded OVO gear, taking a bite out of his gold chain. In the 8-page spread Drake opens up about musical inspirations, including the influence that Kanye West has had on him.

“When I was a kid trying to figure out what I liked, it was [Kanye] who I related to the most. He was an artist, in every sense, from his cover art to his music,” Drake says. “Now, I would say he was a really great competitor….”

As his career continues to skyrocket, Drake has been outspoken about the artists who inspire him, recently adding Stevie Wonder and T.I. to the list influencers. “He’s [Stevie Wonder] been like probably one of the greatest most influential people, next to Tip, who took the time very early in my career to sit me down and have a great conversation with me that I keep with me all the time,” Drake told MTV News. “He [T.I.] told me some key things a couple of nights before he went to jail. Those two guys, I know they’re obviously different, but it meant a lot to me.”

Drake’s sophomore album Take Care will arrive in stores on November 15.
