Onetime musical power couple Rihanna and Chris Brown appeared to be the vision of love and happiness – until an unfortunate spat in early '09 during the annual Grammy Awards weekend between the lovers got physical, resulting in Brown landing a domestic violence charge after the singer turned himself in. After a serious career rehab for Brown, interviews and counseling, the Barbadian pop princess has moved on from the incident and even has managed to remain supportive of Breezy's success despite their marred past.
Rihanna revealed to Men’s magazine Esquire that she is a fan of Chris Brown’s current musical output and continues to wish him well, even after the assault. “It was too much anger. I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career,” said the island beauty.”
"It’s incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did," Ri continues. "Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he’s putting out. I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.”
At Rihanna’s request earlier this year in February, the restraining order against Chris Brown was modified and reduced to a level one meaning that while Brown can contact his ex-girlfriend and be in her vicinity, he still has to follow the milder rules which state he must not annoy or harass her. There were also reports that the pair had been tweeting each other over the summer as well.
Rihanna graces the cover of Esquire as part of its 2011 “Sexiest Woman Alive” issue. Rihanna is artfully nude and sultry in the photo and in a sitting position with her curly hair draped over half her face with part of her skin covered in seaweed.
