Raptress Foxy Brown received some troubling news yesterday when her younger brother Gavin Marchand was sentenced to two and a half years in prison following his guilty plea on two counts of first degree identity theft back in August. Marchand, also well known as rapper "Pretty Boy Gav" was convicted of operating a credit card scam when the Brooklyn native purchased $8,000 from an Hermes store on Madison Ave in New York City.
Gav was spotted by an undercover agent after he attempted to flee the store then led police on a breif police chase before the group were eventually arrested. The case also clears up charges where Marchand was accused of racking up a tab in the range of thousands of dollars at a New York City nightclub.
During his sentence Gavin sat silently and didn't say a word when asked if he wanted to speak. According to sources Marchand will begin serving his sentence immediately.
The 36 year old rapper made a name for himself as the sidkick to Fox then later as an original member of the Fox 5 group, that also included his younger sister. Similar to his sibling, Foxy has also witnessed her fair share of legal issues where at one point the rap diva spent one year incarcerated on New York City's infamous Rikers Island.
The District Attorney handling the case against Gavin expressed the seriousness of the crime and others similar to it. "These criminal operations hurt consumers and businesses, and threaten the security of financial transactions" Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance told The New York Post.
