Young Money starlet Nicki Minaj has left an indelible mark upon the landscape of the rap game, enjoying success as a peerless force of nature amongst her fellow female rap acts. Standing atop that heap, the Queens, New York native has enjoyed untold fame which helped to catapult her late 2010 debut album Pink Friday into the stratosphere.
In the last ten months since her smash debut, Nicki has gone on to support Young Money captain Lil Wayne and his “I Am Still Music" tour and wrapping up her obligations to pop star Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour this past August. Yesterday, the rap diva shared that she will be hitting the road in 2012 on her own this time.
Last evening (September 26), gossip blogger Perez Hilton tweeted to the rapper asking, “When are you going on your solo headlining tour???
"We Barbz are hungry!!!!” Nicki responded, retweeting Hilton’s original tweet, and added the comment, “Lmao. Top of the year babez!” A quick glance at Nicki’s Twitter timeline hasn’t revealed any more bombshells, but it does bode well for fans of Minaj who didn’t get to catch her over the past few months.
The news of Nicki Minaj’s upcoming tour should help to bolster an already whirlwind 2011 for the star. Nicki also snagged a Best Rap Video trophy at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. No official word from the Young Money camp has been released about the as-yet-unnamed tour.
