50 Cent and his pen have certainly been busy but not just with writing rhymes for his upcoming fifth studio album. After signing Atlanta product Shawty Lo to a joint partnership deal and picking up New Orleans rapper Kidd Kidd to add to his growing roster, Fif has added yet another southern artist by way of the West Coast in rapper Genasis to his G-Unit Records squad.
The signing was announced on 50’s site and showcased several tweets from an excited Genasis who was obviously overjoyed as he gushed over his big score and thanking the G-Unit general and all his supporters with a barrage of tweets. “Just inked a deal with @50cent ..I'm Officially G-unit records,” tweeted Genasis last night. He continued with, “I’m Officially G-unit recordsI salute every REAL n---a dat hit me up and said “Congrats”..Especially if you an artist.”
Genasis continued to flex a bit by adding, “All da rest of you rappers dat only pay homage when we face to face its all good #G-unit.” In a moment of humility as the reality of his good fortune apparently sunk in, Genasis then offered graciously, “I would luv to thank all Homies,Fans,Supporters and most of all @50cent for makin a n---a dream come true #SK #G-unit.”
The California artist has made a bit of a splash with his bouncy track “Jackie Chan” and maintains an active YouTube account detailing his exploits and his musical performances. All eyes will certainly be on G-Unit as the next generation of artists on 50’s imprint will help usher in this latest phase for the Queens mogul.
