Lil Wayne On The Mend, Ready To Rock VMAs

Nothing can hold Lil Wayne down. Just a day after crashing a skateboard that resulted in nine stitches the Young Money star was out and about signing autographs for his fans sporting a bandage over his left eye. Weezy even took out the time to talk up his favorite NFL gridiron gang and current reigning Superbowl champs, the Green Bay Packers, whom he predicted would repeat this year.

The day prior Wayne suffered a minor scare when he was rushed to the hospital after he crashed his skateboard following a performance in St. Louis.

“The Lou was good but I busted my fuggin head at the sk8park! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people,” the Young Money CEO tweeted.

Missouri Fox affiliate KTVI reported that a woman in the DePaul Health Center emergency room saw Wayne and his entourage rushed in last night. The New Orleans rap star seems to be just fine and sent a message out to his fans via Twitter telling them that they shouldn’t worry. “Thx to u all for the concern but pls know that I will eventually take even harder falls if I wanna get better…and I will. KC I’m on my way,” he wrote.

Wayne performed at the Spring Center in Kansas City, Missouri and then again in L.A. during MTV’s Video Music Awards, where is nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Collaboration, on Sunday August 28. After the show, at midnight Weezy F. will finally drop his long awaited Tha Carter IV LP digitally via iTunes, Amazon and other physical retailers.

"I am extremely excited to be the first artist to utilize such an amazing idea. I hope that I can open the door for others," Lil Wayne said in a press statement.

The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. See the list of nominees, revisit last year's highlights and vote for Best New Artist at
