Kanye West, Jay-Z Unleash 'Otis' From 'Watch The Throne'

Salivating fans eager to get their hands on Kanye West and Jay-Z’s joint LP Watch The Throne just have a few more weeks to wait for the album but ahead of its release, the pair has leaked a new track to the masses earlier this evening. The soulful “Otis” featuring vocals from legendary R&B crooner Otis Redding is a Kanye West-produced number with both MCs spitting pure braggadocio lyrics and it appears the song is a hit with fans on the Web.

A quick look at social network Twitter has fans commenting on the track in droves with just a handful of people underwhelmed by the straight-ahead nature of the track. Still, the 2011 Starksy & Hutch of Hip Hop have apparently scored themselves a smash out the gate.

“100 times better than H.A.M.!” tweeted fan @kasandra_alexis with also dissing the debut leak from Watch The Throne now relegated to bonus track status. User @seandeezil added, “The track had me making that mean, screwface the entire time. Beat is meeean. The back and forth between the two is great too.”

One fan offered that the sample budget for the song may have eclipsed the total for entire album projects. “That sample probably cost more than most album budgets,” tweeted user @Melanism. Fan @Prov_Sez skeptically offered, “It's cool. I like the Run DMC/EPMD flow they got going. But something tells me this is the weakest song on the album.”

However one fan happens to think new Roc Nation signee Jay Electronica may have inspired the famous duo to step up their bar game. “i think jay elect sparked a fire up jay and ye asses..thats what i think,” said user @dn30001.
