Big Sean First Up In MTV Jams' 'Fab 5' Series

It appears that G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam Records signee Big Sean and his slightly prophetic album title may a pairing of colliding truths. Ever since the Detroit rhyme slinger made his presence felt on the mixtape scene with his three-year Finally Famous mixtape series run starting in 2008, fans have been patiently awaiting his first solo album bearing the same name.

2011 has been a breakout year for Big Sean as his album debuted on the Billboard charts at #3 back in June. As the 23-year old rapper born Sean Anderson continues to cultivate his sound, Big Sean is certainly inching towards being famous finally – pun intended – after becoming the inaugural pick for MTV Jams’ "Fab 5 series.

With confident rhymes and an ear for crafting songs ranging from radio-friendly jams to head nod-inducing club bangers, Big Sean has shown the ability to make hits without deviating far from his usual formula of clever lyrics and well-timed similes to go along with his original rap style. His #1 Billboard Rap Singles smash debut single “My Last” alongside crooner and longtime pal Chris Brown was evidence enough to show Sean is in prime position for his fast-rising stardom.

His second single "Marvin & Chardonnay wowed fans when it leaked in front of his album release and was even a global trending topic on popular social media network Twitter for a spell. In a smart move to keep the buzz going, Sean recently shot a video for the Kanye West and Roscoe Dash collaborative track with famed director Hype Williams. Some fans may be wondering, however, who is the man behind the deceptively menacing moniker. The charming and handsome rapper offered a brief glimpse of who he is in a brief sentence.

"Big Sean is a Detroit player, a dreamer. Somebody who went against the grain who realized following your heart is way more important than following your head," said the confident MC – and it certainly looks like Sean’s big dreams are paying off in a major way. With mentor Kanye West in his corner, production from Kanye’s musical teacher NO I.D. and friends in high places like C Breezy, Big Sean’s path to fame is clearly within his grasp as he continues on with his young career.
