Jadakiss Talks 'Top 5 Dead Or Alive' Album

- By Rob Markman

Top five or top 50, Jadakiss is just happy to be in the running of Hip-Hop’s greatest MCs of all-time. Though the Yonkers lyricist is currently out promoting his May 24 retail mixtape I Love You (A Dedication to My Fans), that didn’t stop him from plugging his upcoming fourth studio LP Top 5 Dead or Alive.

“Top 5 Dead or Alive is just gonna be the same stuff; good music. It’s gonna be like a breath of fresh air for you,” the raspy-voiced MC said.

When pressed about his own personal top five list, the LOX front man stayed humble and wouldn’t included himself. Even with the omission he still he had a difficult time narrowing down his choices, selecting six instead.” I don’t like to toot my own horn, but my top five dead or alive—not in no specific order: Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, Styles P. ’Pac in there too, slip ’Pac in there.

“The question is a bad question, because it’s always more than five. It could be more than 10. There has been so many great MCs since hip-hop started, but it’s just a good argument always.”

So why no Kiss on the list? “I’m just happy to be somewhere in there, whether it’s anywhere from one to 10, I’m happy with bein’ in the greatest 50 like NBA players,” he said. “As long as I’m one of them I’m good. You can’t really get all worried about that type of thing.”
