Chris Brown’s Mom Urges Son To 'Deal With' Turbulent Past

The 2009 assault charges involving then girlfriend Rihanna, ensuing legal implications and public embarrassment that continues to plague R&B crooner Chris Brown, even as he rehabs his tarnished image, has compelled the singer’s mother Joyce Hawkins to urge her troubled son to face up to his past demons in order to triumph over the very public debacle.

In an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine, Ms. Hawkins gives stern words of advice as only a mother can to the “Look At Me Now” star. She tells the magazine, “He has to learn to deal with it and go on with his life. This is something that happened; it was a huge mistake…it was not good at all. But he is still a human being and we all make mistakes and we live and we go on with it. But he has to own it, deal with it and move on with his life.” Ms. Hawkins also added, “I think he really needs to talk about the situation in itself, what actually happened to Rihanna…so that he can get that out for himself.”

Echoing facts many news outlets and fans have already noted, the Virginia native has not taken well to criticism of his violent behavior in the past and has reacted in ways that alerted many to feel Brown suffers with longstanding anger management issues. It was reported that earlier this spring, Brown smashed the set of Good Morning, America after host Robin Roberts dug in with questions that hit too close to home to the Rihanna assault case.

Currently riding high on the crest of success with his latest album F.A.M.E., Breezy recently completed an Australian tour featuring fellow heartthrob Justin Bieber and also performed some acts of charity while on the island continent.
