Did DJ Pauly D Sign To 50 Cent’s G-Note Records?

Looks like 50 Cent is taking his label to the Jersey Shore.

This past week rumors surfaced that MTV Jersey Shore’s Pauly D was signing to G-Unit. The spiky-haired celebrity DJ will reportedly be aligning himself with G-Unit’s imprint label, G-Note. The alleged deal would be for three albums, and the reality show star will spearhead 50 Cent’s movement toward a “club” sound for G-Note. Per AOL Music’s the Boombox, G-Unit DJ Whoo Kid confirmed the deal details yesterday (April 19th) on Sirius XM’s Shade 45 Morning Show. A Rep for G-Unit declined to comment on the deal.

“He [Pauly D] has new records that he wants to showcase and since 50 is doing a lot with Hot Rod (G-Note’s first signee), he wants to broaden the horizon,” Whoo Kid noted. “I guess he wants to get into the club scene and what better way.”

Fans are none too pleased with Pauly turning G-Unit into D-Unit.

“Pauly D signed to G Unit? WTF,” @Spidersamm tweets. “Guh-guh-guh-Guido unit!” @djsacrilicious.

TMZ also reported that Pauly D is in talks to release a line of DJ Pauly D headphones as part of a potential merchandising deal with 50 Cent. While the Jersey Shore will begin filming Season 4 in Italy, Pauly will join them, assumedly simultaneously working on his debut G-Note album.

“All signs of the end of the world!” tweets @djlennyhustle of Pauly D’s new found success. “NEVER underestimate the power of marketing,” @DjBedtime adds.

Pauly D has made the successful transition from a small club DJ in Rhode Island into a record-spinning powerhouse. Last month it was announced that Pauly D received the coveted position as the resident DJ of the Palms in Las Vegas. He also upped his appearance charges to $40,000 an event. Add that to the $100,000 an episode he is making off the Jersey Shore, and well, he is making money hand over fist-pump.
