Yesterday (April 11th), West Coast rapper Mack 10 underwent stomach surgery, stemming from severe abdominal pains that the rapper was experiencing some time last week. Mack 10 was hospitalized in Los Angeles for the pains, and as part of the surgery, “six inches of the problem area in his stomach were removed,” per his press release. According to reports, Mack 10 suffers from Diverticulitis, a condition where an abnormal pouch (known as the diverticulum) in the intestinal wall of the large intestine swells and becomes inflamed. Surgery usually involves removal of the infected area, which is presumably the procedure Mack 10 had done. If not detected, Diverticulitis can cause major complications in the intestines, so Mack 10 was lucky to have found the problem so quickly.
The operation was a success, and the rapper is expected to make a full recovery. However, he will remain hospitalized for ten more days before heading home to recuperate.
“We are all very glad that the worst is over,” Mack 10’s publicist Roberta Magrini exclusively tells RapFix. “Now it’s time for healing. His colleagues, the Hoo Bangin’ team and the entire artist roster wish Mack 10 a quick recovery. We are confident that he will be back to business very, very soon.”
Mack 10’s complications and surgery occurred just as he and fellow rapper Glasses Malone’s collaborative effort Money Music arrived today (April 12th). Malone is signed to Mack 10’s label Hoo Bangin’ Records, where Mack 10 is both the founder and the CEO.
