Lil Wayne & Co. Take The 'I Am Still Music' Tour To The North

Lil Wayne is taking the I Am Still Music tour to the west coast of Canada, eh?

Despite rumors of the Young Money honcho applying for – and being denied – a visa to travel abroad, the New Orleans native is taking his popular tour on the road to delight our northern neighbors. Lil Wayne and his hot selling protégé Nicki Minaj lead the Young Money Records charge for the tour alongside Maybach Music Group mogul Rick Ross. Drummer Travis Barker and legendary Turntablist/DJ Mixmaster Mike will thrill audiences with a DJ/Drummer set.

Weezy and the gang will play three shows in western Canada, beginning in the province of British Columbia’s largest city Vancouver on April 27. The next day, the tour heads north to the province of Alberta and the town of Edmonton on April 28. The short tour remains in Alberta and will wrap up just south of Edmonton in the city of Calgary on April 29.

Already deep into the domestic leg of his tour, Lil Wayne is said to be thrilled to rock out for the Canadian audience, where fans will enjoy quite the perk as the tour’s sponsor Live Nation is offering patrons a onetime ticket promotion where fans can purchase a pack of four tickets for just under $90 dollars.

Named hip hop’s most profitable touring artist in 2009, 2011 finds Wayne heading to yet another banner year with no signs of slowing down. Coupled with the success his Young Money Records imprint has enjoyed due in part to his Pink Friday starlet Nicki Minaj and Canadian crooner Drake, the Grammy award winning Wayne is poised to reap even more good fortune in the months to come.
