Lebron James' Mother Arrested In Miami

The mother of superstar Miami Heat forward Lebron James was arrested early this morning just before 5 a.m. EST after reportedly assaulting a parking attendant at a posh Miami hotel.

Gloria James, 42, was taken into custody after allegedly striking the parking attendant at the famous Fontaineblue hotel. She was released later on her own recognizance. Police officials issued a statement to the media but various sources have confirmed that some manner of altercation did take place at the hotel between James and the parking staff. The police report states that Ms. James will be charged with battery and disorderly intoxication.

This isn’t the first time Ms. James has had a run-in with the law. She was arrested in Ohio on a DUI while her son was still playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers back in 2006.

As her son was becoming a rising star for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Gloria James became a fixture at all of Lebron’s games, lovingly adorned in Cavalier regalia. She was a vocal supporter of her son’s on-court exploits, and at one point nearly jumped onto court once when her son was nearly involved in a fight on the hardwood.

Ms. James has been an avid supporter of her son’s musical ambitions and is a known close friend of Lebron’s buddy Jay-Z. The three appeared together at a NBA All-Star event this year and Ms. James is a knowledgeable rap fan. She has also supported Lebron and Jay-Z’s annual “2 Kings” dinner and networking event in the past.
