In the midst of the controversy swirling about Hot 97 DJ Calvin “Mister Cee” Lebrun and the charges that the former DJ for old school legend Big Daddy Kane was found engaging in sexual activity with a young male in public last Wednesday (March 30), many of Cee’s famous pals have stood up in defense of their friend including one very powerful and surprising voice in the realm of hip hop.
50 Cent joined Hot 97 personality Miss Info Monday (April 4) night on the Celebrity Drama show where the G-Unit boss chimed in on Mister Cee’s legal predicament in a most mature fashion. “It's only entertaining because he means that much to hip-hop culture and his association to it, “said 50. “I recognize Mister Cee as the guy who offered us Biggie, so he means that much to the culture. And a lot of the kids that hear the radio don't see him the same way.”
50’s reverence of Mister Cee went beyond his appreciation for bringing The Notorious B.I.G. to the public. The Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ star publicly credited the DJ on air as a trusted critic, stating that he played two of his albums in their entirety for legendary DJ’s approval.
50 also made certain to note that none of the rumors about Cee’s lifestyle should manifest into a drop in support of the longtime and popular DJ or derail his career. “It’s not like there’s gonna be a nightclub that doesn’t call Mister Cee because of the rumor,” said 50 sternly.
