It appears that Beyoncé's self-imposed hiatus will soon be over.
This summer, the multi-platinum selling superstar singer and wife of music mogul Jay-Z will make her return to the music stage with a new album slated be released in June.
Beyoncé has been hard at work on her album quietly behind the scenes, with a recent photo showing the megastar writing songs with Odd Future’s resident crooner Frank Ocean. The former Destiny’s Child front woman has also has been collaborating with Australian singer/songwriter Sia and producer/DJ and songwriter Diplo.
Beyoncé unveiled a reported six songs from her upcoming opus to her record label’s executives and staff at a private listening party in New York last week, leading Sony Music Australia head Denis Handlin to gush over what he had heard to the Daily Telegraph. “It was just amazing. These songs, the best description I can give is groundbreaking," Said Mr. Handlin. “She's gone to another level.”
The album’s late June release has a few built in conveniences for the diva, as she confirmed earlier this year that she will headline the Glastonbury Festival in England to be held this June. Beyonce’s beau Jay-Z headlined the annual festival as well in 2008.
Designer Roberto Cavalli recently let it slip in the press that the songstress wore one of his designs for her first video shoot for the new record so fans should expect some visuals for Beyonce’s latest release.
Beyonce’s fourth studio album as a soloist has yet to be titled and the singer’s last album I Am…Sasha Fierce was released in late 2008, selling well over six million copies worldwide.
