New York Knicks All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony is taking his talents from the court to the stage, for a night. The New York Post is reporting the Melo will be making an appearance on Saturday Night Live tomorrow.
SNL hasn’t confirmed if the Brooklyn native will indeed be acting in any sketches. The show’s host, and musical guest, for the evening is Sir Elton John. The acting work shouldn’t affect the Melo’s game, the next Knicks game is Sunday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers at 6pm at Madison Square Garden.
Back in February, MTV News caught up with Melo a day before his much hyped trade to the Knicks. Melo and his wife, La La Velasquez, will have their move to New York City chronicled in a VH1 reality series, tentatively titled “La La’s Full Court Life,” that is scheduled to premiere in August. The couple should be used to the cameras since their wedding was documented on another VH1 show, “La La’s Full Court Wedding.”
Last year, Melo spoke to Mixtape Daily about Diego Ca$h, a signee to his Krossover Entertainment label. “We saw someone that was raw talent that a lot of people were overlooking," Anthony told Mixtape Daily. "He wasn't getting the respect that he deserved, so I jumped in there. I just started Krossover Entertainment, the music side of things. He was the first artist signed to Krossover.”
Diego’s labelmate on Krossover is Philadelphia rapper Cassidy. The former Swizz Beatz artist released his fourth album, C.A.S.H., on the E1 (Koch) distributed label last November.
