Big Sean Says Chris Brown Is A 'Real Person'

Although strong bonds have been forged in the often cutthroat climate within the music business, where partnerships seemingly fade overnight, it is refreshing to note that two young and continually rising stars have found a way to keep their connection genuine.

On today’s (March 23) edition of RapFix Live, G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam recording artist Big Sean sat with Sway and added some much needed commentary on the inner workings of being a celebrity and the pressures of being perfect under the glare of the media’s ever watching eye.

Close friends inside and outside of music, rapper Big Sean and Chris Brown have shown massive respect for each other via the press. The R&B star, embroiled in all manner of bad press due to a reported angry outburst at Good Morning America Tuesday (March 22), heaped heavy accolades on the Kanye West mentee in an earlier MTV interview. “Big Sean is probably the most underrated artist,” said the F.A.M.E. star. He added, “Everybody kind of sleeps on him.”

Brown even credited his friend by saying Sean fathered a few styles that current rappers claim as their own – although he was reluctant to name any of these supposed thieves.

Big Sean was then asked by Sway to weigh in on Chris Brown’s media misfortune, and the Detroit rhyme spitter did not hold back in his response. “I think that’s so wack. I feel like when you're a celebrity, people dehumanize you and they forget you're a real person,” said the Finally Famous rapper speaking directly to Breezy’s 2009 assault case on then girlfriend Rihanna.

“He's a real person and, at that, he's a young dude too, man, and he made a mistake.”

Big Sean told Sway that he spoke with Brown on the phone shortly after the Tuesday incident in New York and offered a kind word in what was surely tense time for the singer. “We get paid to do what we love to do and have people that love us back. Don't let these questions get you down or anything”, said Sean to Brown.

Big Sean’s Def Jam debut Finally Famous drops May 3. Chris Brown’s F.A.M.E. album is available for purchase now.
