NBA Hall of Fame legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson visited the Miami Heat’s American Airlines arena last night (March 10) to watch the star-studded team take on his famed Los Angeles Lakers squad. The basketball analyst also happened to meet up with another young star outside of the realm of sports.
Continuing with RapFix’s "Made U Look" series, where we feature stars and entertainers in their element enjoying the trappings of celebrity, this latest photo from Magic Johnson’s Twitter page shows the baller having an official meet and greet with one of hop hop’s brightest stars. Magic attended the game along with Young Money honcho Lil Wayne.
Magic took to his Twitter account and tweeted about meeting the star rapper. “Got to meet Lil Wayne @liltunechi at the game last night!” posted an excited Magic.
The 6-foot-9 Johnson towered over the much shorter rapper, giving his stage name a visual accompaniment. Magic was dressed sharply, donning a simple gray sports jacket, white cross pattern shirt and a dark blue and white polka dot tie. Weezy was decked out in typical hip hop fashion with his signature locks tied behind his head. Wearing a Los Angeles Lakers ball cap and crispy white V-neck t-shirt with the requisite gold chains, Wayne continues to not support the team based in the city he now calls home. Other notable stars in the house were Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Cash Money Records CEO Birdman.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat game was hotly contested until the fourth quarter. Sadly Magic couldn’t work any – ahem – magic for the team he helped make famous. The Heat defeated the Lakers by a score of 94-88.
