Suge Knight Drops Lawsuit Against Kanye West

The battle between Hip-Hop's notorious bad guy Suge Knight vs rap's outspoken teddy bear Kanye West has come to an end. According to the AP Knight has decided to end his long fought battle against West after he suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during a party the producer was hosting during MTV's Video Music Awards weekend in Miami in 2005.

An attorney for the Death Row founder filed a dismissal last month following a series of court dates that culminated in the case being thrown out in November. Knight and his legal team would appeal that decision. The suit finally ended in both parties settling out of court on "confidential" terms.

Suge Knight filed a suit against Kanye seeking millions in damages claiming West and the club was responsible for the shooting over lack of security. As part of his lawsuit Knight was also looking for finances over a $100,000 diamond studded earring he lost in the shooting.

"It was reasonably foreseeable to defendants that the party would present a dangerous environment with the possibility of weapons (including firearms) being used by or against party guests given the well-known feuds that have at times pitched East Coast rap and hip-hop stars against West Coast rap and hip-hop stars, some of whom would be attending the party with their associates," the suit read at the time. "Certain hip-hop artists who were invited to the party ... were known not to be friendly to Mr. Knight."

The unidentified shooter in the case has yet to be arrested.

The VMA festivities were also attended by other celebrities such as the Game, Eddie Murphy, Black Eyed Peas and more.
