B.o.B Introduces His Monocle During Grammy Performance

By Erika Ramirez

Atlantic Record artists, B.o.B, Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae, are three of the most wanted artists right now. The trio hit the stage at tonight’s (February 13th) 53rd Grammy awards to perform their hits, “Nothin’ on You,” (by B.o.B.) “Grenade (by Bruno Mars) and “Cold War” (by Janelle Monae). The Atlanta MC, in a black tux and a monocle, kicked off the performance with “Nothin’ on You,” aside Janelle Monae and Bruno Mars.

Bobby Ray is nominated for three Grammys, including Record of the Year, for “Nothin’ on You.” The chart-topping track was originally intended for Lupe Fiasco but the good folks at Atlantic Records intervened.

"I was actually working on a session in Chung King [Studios], and [Atlantic Records chairman] Craig Kallman called me during that session with that particular track to work on it for Lupe Fiasco," Jim Jonsin told MTV News. "I told Craig, 'I like the song a lot. It's a smash and could be somebody's single. But it's not Lupe's record. I need this record for B.o.B. Please give this record to B.o.B.' I guess they went through whoever they went through, convinced whoever they needed to, and it got to B.o.B."

RapFix turned to rap experts for their thoughts on B.o.B’s performance and get up.
